The OneShot Pickleball paddles company come to us courtesy of the Montes and Lui families right here in Washington State. They met on the courts at Green Lake in Seattle.

Come see us at the OneShot Pickleball Paddles tent

The OneShot Pickleball paddle is quickly developing a name for itself, but we also like that they are a family-run business and play to win with the paddles they make. Oscar Montes (marketing and tech) and John Lui (production and operations) took silver at the US Open in 4.0 mixed doubles, and Oscar medaled in singles as well. Not to be outdone, Michelle Lui took home 5.0 gold at the International Indoor Championship in Centralia, WA.

OneShot Pickleball, by the way, is the only company we know of that makes a pickleball paddle for toddlers ages 2-6 ($39.99). Remember, the family that plays together stays together.  According to Oscar, the biggest problem their startup has faced is keeping up with demand. They are also in negotiations with several pro pickleball players to sponsor on the circuit.

UltimateShot & Powershot Paddles

Pickleballreviews.com has been testing both the OneShot Ultimateshot (the more square one) and the OneShot Powershot pickleball paddles. First, they have cool logos. (If think logos don’t matter ask yourself where Nike would be today without the swoosh.) Second, they hold their own against many of the ultra premium pickleball paddles we’ve tested.

Which OneShot pickleball paddle will perform best for you is based on your individual playing style and how you approach the match. The OneShot Ultimateshot pickleball paddle is a bit softer on the hand and would be preferred by finesse players who want more precision on dink shots. The heavier OneShot Powershot pickleball paddle has more heft for serving hard and adding that extra topspin or backspin. (If you’re not using backspin in your game start practicing.)

What I really like about the OneShot paddle is the feeling of lightness. The weight is average but the lightness comes from the balance between head and grip being just right. For me, there’s nothing worse than a head-heavy paddle that feels like a club.

Compared to premium paddles designed for softness, the OneShot paddle impact is a bit harder and the sound more poppy, but for me that adds to the performance and gives me solid feedback on my shots.

Our verdict? At $69.99 (price is going up $10 soon, so hurry) the OneShot Powershot paddle and OneShot Ultimateshot pickleball paddle perform above their price point and Just like Oscar, John, and Michelle proved at there respective championships, you will beat players with paddles that cost more than twice as much.
